Nitrous Misconceptions

Q: Is nitrous flammable?

A: No. Nitrous will not catch fire nor will it explode like you've seen in the movies.

Q: Is it possible to get a bad tank?

A: No, its not possible for you to get a bad fill.  More often then not people are not monitoring their nitrous pressure.  By not monitoring your pressure, the PSI can fall bellow the required 900 PSI.  This will results in a loss in power and possible bogging due to running too rich.

Q: Will nitrous blow up my engine?

A: By itself, no nitrous will not cause damage to your vehicle. However this assumes that you have done your research both in regards to nitrous and to the limitations of your vehicle. Your drive train has a limitation in terms of horsepower. If you exceed this limitation don't expect it to survive. Some people blame nitrous for blowing up their engines, but it is their own ignorance.

Q: Does using nitrous make an unique sound?

A: No, there is no special sound effect when nitrous is used. Another myth generated by the movies.
