Nitrous Accessories List
Q: What kinds of accessories are there for nitrous?
A: Heaters, tank sizes, bottle openers, purge kits, pressure gauges and a few other small things.
Q: What kind of heaters are there? How do they work?
A: There are two main kinds of heating systems. One is purely electronic. It will heat the bottle or cool it to the desired PSI that you have preset the system to. The other system operates directly off of the line pressure. It reads the pressure in the line and heats up the tank to adjust to the desired PSI.
Q: What kind of tanks are there?
A: Tanks comes in various sizes: 10 oz, 1 pound, 2 pounds, 5 pounds, 10 pounds and 15 pounds just to name a few. This is also hi-flow valves and super hi-flow valves. The super hi-flow valves are for nitrous systems pushing out 200 plus horse.
Q: What kind of bottle openers are there? How does it work?
A: There are two main options. You can get a bottle opener that goes in the nitrous line. This is basically just a solenoid. This requires the valve of the tank to be open while the solenoid acts as a secondary valve in the nitrous line. Then there is a bottle opener that actually bolts onto the tank itself. This will interact with the valve on the tank acting like a hand. This is initially more expensive then the solenoid option, but can save you money because it prevents any possible leaks from your nitrous lines.
Q: What's a purge kit? How does it work?
A: When you open the bottle nitrous fills the lines. When opening your nitrous tank air can be trapped in the line. This air can bog an engine. By purging the line it allows the nitrous to enter your engine preciously when you want it to. Purge kits can also be used as a great way to show off your car and intimate your opponent while at the line.
Q: What's a pressure gauge? How does it work?
A: Basically this displays the psi inside the lines and bottle. You typically want the PSI to be in-between 950-1000 PSI. This is the optimal pressure to run your nitrous system, and can be achieved with a heater.
